The French ECIRBEN program is about to end. Started in 2016, the program aimed to increase collecting of wood waste and its valorisation on Normandy and Paris area (France). Led by Biomasse Normandie, CEDEN, FCBA et CRITT Logistic, works have enable to provide information on the resource through physicochemical analysis (60) and combustion tests (pilot scale and industrial scale), on wood waste management in Europe and France, on flows in the concerned areas. By emulation it created, this program funded both by institutional (ADEME, region) and local industrials made it possible to reassure players and contribute to the emergence of projects. Since the starting of ECIRBEN, several projects based on wood waste have come up in Normandy, both in energy and recycling (around 500,000 t). To be able to supply these facilities, some flows currently exported abroad (Belgium, Sweden…) could remain on the region in term in one hand, and some of flow currently landfilled or incinerated in mix, will have to be collected.
